Spatial futures visions for a new food system

The Netherlands is on the eve of major changes in the way our food is produced. More and more people recognize that we must move towards a less intensive way of producing food, one that is more in harmony with the landscape, nature, soil quality, biodiversity, the environment and public health. Society is also becoming convinced that farmers need a better perspective and, in many cases, a better income with lower capital costs. There is also a need among farmers for a higher social appreciation of their work.
